Can you wear lace on lace? (AKA how to wear similar patterns together)

YES, you can!  When wearing two similar patterns, such as lace on lace, play with color, size, and texture.  Different colors will help break up the outfit, so you won't look like you are being swallowed up by the pattern.  Generally, the problem with wearing similar patterns on top and bottom is that the patterns look overwhelming and overbearing.  If the two patterns have different size prints, then it will look more interesting and like the varying colors, the different sized patterns will break up the outfit.

I love seeing small polka dots paired with large polka dot patterns!  I think it looks super chic and cute!  Texture is important in every outfit because it makes the outfit more aesthetically pleasing.  Plus, it can be used to break up monochromatic outfits or pattern on pattern outfits.
