Beauty Product Review: Is GlamGlow worth the hype?

I have been watching blogger after blogger rave about GlamGlow for two years now.  I decided to give a try a few days ago.  I bought the GlamGlow Super mud Clearing mask from Sephora during double point skin care month.  And here are my first impressions...

First, it spreads on over the skin really well.
Second, you don't need that much product to cover your whole face.
Third, it does not smell good.

It smells like burnt licorice.  I know that sounds odd, but that's the best way I can describe it.  After waiting 20 minutes, I washed off the mask.  And my skin felt like it could breathe.  My skin felt super soft and really clean.

I also found that the time it took me to take a selfie made my face feel really tight and dry.  So, a good moisturizer is definitely in order after using this mask.  Anyway, this product gets a big thumbs up from me!

The first two weeks of using this product, I broke out.  Which seems like a contradictory thing, but there is probably a purging period with this product like many anti-acne products in the market.  It's going to get worse before it gets better.  I had three large zits on my left cheek.  And just my left cheek, my right cheek is acne-free (knock on wood, as I'm typing this my body will probably try to sabotage this sentence and I'll wake up with a huge zit on that side of my face...please don't let it happen...knocks on wood a second time, jumps on one foot, and crosses her fingertips)

Nothing?  Good.

After four weeks of using GlamGlow, I'm actually starting to see a difference.  I wash my face with a little silicon brush that I got from Sasa.com and I can actually see my black heads being scrubbed off, which is kind of gross but really good.  I'm actually noticing less blackheads around my nose bridge area now, which is amazing!

When you use GlamGlow, you don't pile the product on your face like you do with other mud masks.  You apply a fairly light layer, I tend to concentrate product on my breakouts.  And you use very little product.  After using this product for a month, I still have quite a lot of product left.  I used it six times already and I just skimmed the surface.

Yes, GlamGlow is pricey,  Yes, it cost a lot for such a small bottle.  But, I think it's worth it.

UPDATE~ It's been quite a few months since I first wrote this post.  But I can honestly say that I still love my GlamGlow!  I have no idea what kind of magic is in this bottle, but whenever I have small bumps on my face or rough skin, I put a thin layer of GlamGlow on it.  Within 20 minutes, my face feels soft and looks radiant.

What do you think?
