The Perfect Dupe for The Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 hour Full Coverage Foundation
I have been in love with the Tarte Amazonian Clay foundation for almost two years now. It is still one of my holy grail make-up products. Ever since I saw Jenn Im from ClothesEncounters mention this foundation in one of her favorites, I knew I had to pick it up.
Jenn Im's style, makeup, and hair is ALWAYS on point. So, I knew I would not regret this purchase. Tarte's Amazonian Clay foundation was the second brand name foundation I had EVER purchased. About three years ago, I started playing with makeup and began using a ton of drugstore brands such as Covergirl and Physicians Formula. I went through five compacts of Physician Formula's organic wear translucent powder and I don't even know how many Covergirl mascaras.
I wanted to see why people willingly shell out $40, $50, and sometimes even $80 for foundation. After I tried the Tarte Amazonian Clay foundation, I understood. The Amazonian Clay foundation stays on your face- it does not fade or break up throughout the day, leaving you looking patchy and cakey. Plus, the smooth, mousse like texture makes it easy to apply and blend all over the face and down the neck.
If you love the Tarte Amazonian Clay foundation, then you will love the Ulta Double Duty Primer and Foundation. It has a similar texture, application, and staying power as the Tarte foundation. The Ulta foundation is only $5! Plus, the Ulta foundation is oil free, paraben free, and fragrance free. What more could you need?
To apply these two foundations, I love using my real techniques foundation brush. The brush has a slightly dome shape with soft, thick bristles that won't leave your face looking streaky. It blends the mousse like foundation very easily and never makes your face look cakey.
